As local as they come. Born and raised in Calgary, I grew up working in the family real estate business.
My father came to Calgary in 1972 with only a suitcase and $50 to his name. With the commitment to his 3 principals for success; hard work, honesty and good credit he was able to build a successful real estate investment firm. I remember sitting at the kitchen table at 12 years old, while my father explained to me how a blended mortgage payment works. He showed me how investing in real estate meant that every single month could be more profitable than the last. I was sold at that young age that I was destined to pursue a career in real estate.
Focusing on real estate growing up allowed me to tailor my training and education to the only vocation I would ever know. I became a Certified Real Estate Professional in 2003 after graduating with Distinction from the University of Calgary. No one has a crystal ball, but with my degree and background in economics, studying how different polices affect real estate returns I like to think my market analysis gives me an advantage over my competitors when working with clients.
Spending my entire life in Calgary immersed in our real estate market has given me a long-term understanding of the cyclical nature of our industry and the big picture factors that influence our local market. My many years working in the real estate industry has allowed me to forge tremendous working and personal relationships with other Realtors and all of our many support industries, from contractors, inspectors, architects, mortgage lenders, builders and lawyers. All of this experience and vast network is gladly shared with my clients and gives my clients the confidence they need to move ahead with their next real estate investment decision.
As a real estate investor myself – my true passion is guiding clients through their own investment decision. On my time off I am a proud supporter of our local sports teams and love to travel with my wife and kids while I scope out new real estate innovations from around the world that I can bring back home to Calgary.
